The Walkers and Talkers comprise of a group of people from the Broughton
Parish in Lancashire, United Kingdom. The parish consists of three
churches, St John Baptist, the main church, and the two satelite churches
of St Martins and St Peters. The Walkers and Talkers group was formed in
1990 with the idea of meeting together for an easy walk and getting to know
each other outside the church environment. All the walks the group organise
suit walkers of all ages. Currently the age range is about seven to ninety years old!
For this reason there are no steep hills to climb and no difficult terrain to be
covered.
Each walk is about five or six miles long and the time taken varies from two to four
hours, depending on the number of stops and the amount of talking being done.
